All About Your Crocheter

Hi, and welcome to my world. I love to crochet Navajo afghans, so since our four children's and grandchildren's rooms were overflowing with afghans, I deceided to start Cover Girls. This would give all my relatives and friends a break. I'm just kidding, they all cherish the afghans they have received over my many years of making them, 35+. Ouch that hurts!

This all started out so small, I mean I have only two hands! How many afghans could I crochet anyway? Actually quite a few. Then I designed accessories to go along with my afghans, to compliment a whole room. I now carry coasters, sachet holders, placemats, runners, a hearth rug, pillows and two draft dodgers.

I started with craft shows, which are alot of hard work. Next time you are shopping a show, pay happily what the crafter is asking, they earn every penny. The next sales step was putting my items into stores. That produces less sales than the shows but is a lot less work. Lastly, the internet. This was a scarey step for someone who has never touched a computer. But it was the best step I could have taken. The on-line support from several women's sites is just the best. Moms Network Exchange and Digital Women makes even the newest person knowledgable. And you ask what caused this last step? Because our daughter Debbie, who was 18 at the time, bought her own computer. Who would have guessed? Of course I had a ton of help making this site from my dear son and husband, both named Douglas.

My husband, Doug, and I have been married 31 years. We have four wonderful children, Debbie our baby, Doug , Charity and Patty.

Along with my passion for crocheting, I also garden, watch and feed birds, fish and hunt and play cards. Oh yes, and serve Jesus with my heart, the best I know how. If you have a prayer request, check out our "The Good Word".

Patty our oldest daughter is married to Darrell Schrumpf, has three sons, and lives in Washington state. Our grandsons are Kenny, Tim, and Dakota. Here's their pictures!

Charity
This is Charity in 1994.

Charity graduated from Saint Scholastica College, in Duluth MN, with teaching credentials. She is wonderful with children, especially little boys, and is a full-time teachers aid for a special child. She married Donald Meyer III in October 2001 and also became the mother of a little boy at the same time, his name is Dillon.

Douggie
This is Doug in 1995.

Our handsome son has moved back to Minnesota from California, where he was born. I have no idea what he's going to be when he grows up, besides a "Daddy", which has always been his hearts desire. He recently married a wonderful christian girl named Sarah. He is working at Best Buy and planning a new career as a photographer. Please pray for him as he was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis. Debbie
This is Debbie in 1998.

Debbie graduated with honors from Central Lakes College and is now an RN and works in surgery at Saint Joseph's hospital here in Brainerd MN. She is sweet, happy and generous. (She paid me to say that.) She was married on June 22 2002 to Jody Rochel and they gave us our first granddaughter in February of 2004, Rylee Kathryn. Wow! What happened to our baby girl?
